Ionic thermoelectric gating organic transistors
Temperature is one of the most important environmental stimuli to record and amplify. While traditional thermoelectric materials are attractive for temperature/heat flow sensing applications, their sensitivity is limited by their low Seebeck coefficient (∼100 μV K-1). Here we take advantage of the large ionic thermoelectric Seebeck coefficient found in polymer electrolytes (∼10,000 μV K-1) to i...
متن کاملThermoelectric Power in Bilayer Graphene Device with Ionic Liquid Gating
The quest for materials showing large thermoelectric power has long been one of the important subjects in material science and technology. Such materials have great potential for thermoelectric cooling and also high figure of merit ZT thermoelectric applications. We have fabricated bilayer graphene devices with ionic-liquid gating in order to tune its band gap via application of a perpendicular...
متن کاملImproved carrier mobility in few-layer MoS2 field-effect transistors with ionic-liquid gating.
We report the fabrication of ionic liquid (IL)-gated field-effect transistors (FETs) consisting of bilayer and few-layer MoS2. Our transport measurements indicate that the electron mobility μ ≈ 60 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1) at 250 K in IL-gated devices exceeds significantly that of comparable back-gated devices. IL-FETs display a mobility increase from ≈ 100 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1) at 180 K to ≈ 220 cm(2) V(-...
متن کاملOrganic Field-Effect Transistors
Organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) were first described in 1987. Their characteristics have undergone spectacular improvements during the last two or three years. At the same time, several models have been developed to rationalize their operating mode. In this review, we examine the performance of OFETs as revealed by recently published data, mainly in terms of field-effect mobility and o...
متن کاملGraphene field-effect transistors with ferroelectric gating.
Recent experiments on ferroelectric gating have introduced a novel functionality, i.e., nonvolatility, in graphene field-effect transistors. A comprehensive understanding in the nonlinear, hysteretic ferroelectric gating and an effective way to control it are still absent. In this Letter, we quantitatively characterize the hysteretic ferroelectric gating using the reference of an independent ba...
